Matt Cogar is not only the youngest Champion in STIHL TIMBERSPORTS history, he's also won the U.S. Championship for five consecutive years (2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2017). The future is bright for Matt, who hails from a large family of lumberjack sports athletes.

For David Moses, being a STIHL TIMBERSPORTS athlete is a family tradition. His father has been a STIHL TIMBERSPORTS competitor since 1972. Through hard work and constant training, David has earned his place as the one of the sport’s top competitors.

Growing up in Japan, Aya Blaine was surrounded by art. Still, it wasn't until she was an adult that she first tried her hand at chainsaw carving. She decided to stick with the medium and is now an accomplished competitive chainsaw carver with her own art studio.

Nathan “Bucket” Waterfield gets to participate in lumberjack series events across the country and around the world. When he’s home, he’s usually either practicing for the next competition or out in the forest working at his job as an arborist. 

When certified arborist Grant Crowell left his job to start his own tree service company, he only had two employees and a handful of equipment. His company, The Urban Foresters, now employs 35 tree care professionals, operates ten trucks and depends on the high quality of STIHL to get the job done.

Emilie Brzezinski is a world renowned artist, and a chainsaw is her tool of choice. During the last two decades, her monumental wood sculptures have been featured in galleries and museums around the globe, and she creates all of them with a STIHL chainsaw.

Since they were children, Hector and Jose Cantu have been working with chainsaws. When they were old enough, they both got jobs there as well, repairing equipment.

From a young age, Kay Kamish knew she wanted to raise horses for a living. She fulfilled that dream and now operates a small horse farm outside of Claremore, Oklahoma. With workdays that start at 6 a.m., Kay depends on quality tools to help her get everything done.

home a reality. The couple uses STIHL equipment for a variety of needs, including trimming, clearing and cutting.

Bill Chambers is passionate about helping others. That's why he volunteered to be a member of the Southern Baptist Convention disaster relief team. His team regularly partners with the Red Cross and FEMA to be onsite wherever, whenever disaster strikes.

of A.I.R. Lawn Care, based in Rockville, Maryland. The A.I.R. stands for Atmosphere Improvement and Renewal, named so because the company is an ecofriendly lawn care service.

Jamie Burger currently serves as the elected presiding commissioner of Scott County. Part of his work includes serving on the Work Force Investment Board. After using STIHL products at home for years, Jamie recommended the board purchases all STIHL equipment.

Barry Booth, the owner of B&B Timber, runs his mill with great pride and personal dedication. The mill manufactures lumber, railroad ties and other products for the timber industry. It’s hard, noisy work, but Barry wouldn’t have it any other way.
