How did you get involved in lumberjack sports?
I am a third generation competitor so I have been around it all my life with my dad being in the Series.
When did you begin participating/competing in lumberjack sports and the STIHL TIMBERSPORTS® Series?
I started training when I was eight and competing when I was 10. Last year was my first year in the Pro Series.
How do you train for the STIHL TIMBERSPORTS Series and other lumberjack competitions?
We have a training deck built in the back yard along with a wood lot with a set up there. We are able to train all the events out there. I also do weight lifting to build strength and speed five days a week.
Are you related to any current or former STIHL TIMBERSPORTS Series competitors?
I am related to Mike Slingerland, my dad.
Best/strongest STIHL TIMBERSPORTS Series discipline:
Underhand.
Any advice for the collegiate competitors?
I would say to keep at it, you guys are the future of our sport. Train as much as you can with the professionals around you.
What pro athlete/celebrity would you like to see try one of the STIHL TIMBERSPORTS Series disciplines?
Demarcus Ware of the Dallas Cowboys.

Proudest moment in your life so far:
Making the STIHL TIMBERSPORTS Series semi-finals my first time on the Series and being the youngest professional competitor of the STIHL TIMBERSPORTS Series.
